Designing the Parks confirmed the intense interest that exists among park managers and users, as well as designers and planners, in addressing the multiple issues that will shape park design and management in the 21st century. The principles are the culmination of this two-part conference that explored the past, present, and future of park planning and design. With a renewed commitment to the Designing the Parks goals and future plans, we are seeking substantial input to continue refining the draft principles and testing them on real projects to guide future park planning and design.
